Pricing guide
What tree work and fencing really cost
We do not price from a menu. Here is what the main UK cost guides publish for the jobs we do, what actually moves the number, and how we quote: on your job, in writing, free.
Pick a job to see the range
The big UK cost guides disagree with each other, often by a lot, because no two jobs are the same. Pick a service to see what they publish and what pushes a price up or down.
Every job, quoted on its own facts
We come and look, usually within a few days, at no charge. We agree exactly what you want done. Then you get a fixed written quote, normally within two working days, and it does not change once you have it. No menu, no hard sell, no surprises on the day.
Pricing questions
How much should I pay for a tree surgeon?
Enough to get a qualified, insured one who quotes in writing and clears up after. The published cost guides span a wide range because access, height and waste move the price more than the job's name. We look first, then give you a fixed figure.
Why won't you list fixed prices?
Because a real price needs a look at the real tree or fence line. A menu price would be a guess, and a guess helps nobody. We would rather visit, for free, and put an honest written figure in front of you within two working days.
What is the cheapest time of year for tree work?
Winter, usually. The dormant season is quieter and kinder to most trees, so it is easier to book and often the sensible time for a reduction or a fell. Nesting season (March to August) limits some work for good legal reasons.
How do I know a quote is fair?
Ask what it includes. Ours covers the work, the waste away, the site left tidy, and the insurance behind it. A quote that looks cheap often leaves out disposal, or means topping instead of a proper reduction, which costs more within a few years.
