Case study · Battle

A TPO'd oak reduced, not felled.

A mature English oak in a garden in Battle, about fifteen metres, with a big limb reaching over the owners' conservatory. They'd been told by another firm to fell it. We didn't think that was the answer. We put in a Section 211 notice, got sign-off from Rother, and reduced the tree by about two and a half metres with a crown clean. A day and a half on site, chipped and cleared.

How we work

Four steps. No surprises.

We come and look.

We come out, walk the job with you, and flag anything a desk quote would miss.

You get it in writing.

A plain-English quote within two working days, with the method, the time on site and the waste plan.

We turn up when we said.

Ground mats on the lawn, a word with the neighbours if we're close to the fence, and the work done to the spec in the quote.

We leave it tidy.

Logs stacked where you want them, arisings chipped and away on the truck, drive blown clear. That bit matters to us.

We won't be the cheapest quote you get.

We're NPTC qualified, we carry £5m public liability, and we work to BS3998 on every tree job. That costs more than a man with a chainsaw and a pickup, and it shows up in the quote.

Most of our customers have had the cheap version once, seen how it went, and decided they'd rather have the other kind. If our number isn't the right one for you, we'll wish you well and point you at someone honest.

What the money goes on:

  • NPTC tickets kept current
  • £5m public liability cover
  • Tree work to BS3998, not a guess
  • Quality materials on fencing, not the cheapest
  • Ground protection, site tidying and a walk-through at the end
Where we work

Most of our work is within twenty miles of Hastings.

That covers:

...and the villages between. Further out? Give us a ring anyway. We'll travel for the right job.

Reviews

What customers have said.

Absolutely brilliant
Bob W, Hastings
Josh reduced a storm-damaged sycamore at the back of our garden in Fairlight. Turned up when he said, worked carefully around the shed, cleaned everything up at the end. Polite, tidy, and the quote was the price. Would have him back.
Sarah P., Fairlight
We needed the front oak crown-reduced, TPO'd, and most people we asked wanted to talk us into felling. JM did the paperwork with Rother, reduced it properly, and it looks like they haven't been there. Worth the money.
